Dogs for sale
We publish here any dogs that we have for sale. The dogs can be Dargdaffin Dogs that we have kept back from a litter or pups that we have taken in from a young age.
As we are actively involved with the local shooting and picking up we get to see many dogs on the shooting field and are able to gauge their ability. When a litter comes available we are in a good position to obtain pups from solid working backgrounds
These pups are then trained and sold to clients that are looking for a shooting companion.
We have found over the years that selling part trained dogs is a win win situation for the dog and the handler
Most people that are involved with shooting are also very busy people. Due to lack of time and access to suitable training grounds it can be difficult for handlers to train the young dog whilst it is going through its repetition repetition phase of its early training.
There are many opinions on how to choose the right pup when faced with a litter of 6, 7 or more, but if the truth be known it is mainly down to luck.
Buying a part trained dog has many advantages
By choosing a young part trained dog you get a better insight to how the dog is going to develop
The trainer is taking the risks that the dog will grow to be strong, fit and biddable
The price of a part trained dogs rarely reflects the hard work that has been put into them by the breeder and trainer
What is part trained? Well that is up to you to decide.
You may wish a pup a few months old with all the basics done and ready for gundog training.
You may decide that would prefer a dog that has been introduced to the stop whistle and dummies or you may want a dog that has all the dummy work out of the way and is ready to introduced to the field.
Not many dogs come available for detailing here as people who visit the kennels usually have put their mark on a young starter dog to be trained up to an agreed standard.
